Check out Twenty-Nine New Game Cards from Magic: The Gathering's TMNT Expansion (Including a Commander Precon Deck!)

Everyone's favorite pizza-eating superheroes are coming to the popular trading card game. The popular TCG's publisher, the game's creators, revealed a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration during a special panel hosted at New York Comic Con. Could this be a exciting new set or yet another Universes Beyond marketing move? Let you decide.

Check out below at everything announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, along with some useful background. All items listed below launches on March 6th, 2026, with one exception — a special Pizza Bundle arrives a few weeks later on March 27.

Magic x TMNT: Core Set Cards

Before we get into all the various unique products and bundles available, we’ll examine at the full lineup from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion unveiled by the developers. Standard booster packs for the set are set at $6.99 per pack, while premium boosters should run $37.99 per pack.

Let's unpack a couple of surprising features. First, a new gameplay mechanic called Sneak, which is a riff on the pre-existing Ninjutsu ability, in which players can cheat big creatures onto the battlefield when an attacker goes unblocked. The big difference in this case is that Sneak can apply to spells that aren’t creatures as well. Wizards also used this chance to refine the ability a little (It counts as casting, unlike Ninjutsu). The original ability isn't going away, but chances are we'll see the new mechanic in upcoming expansions from now on.

“If we ever were to return to the Kamigawa plane, it’s possible we’d use Ninjutsu since that plane is it was developed and it’s a hallmark of that world,” an experienced game designer stated. “However on other planes, since the rules are cleaner and Sneak is what's going to be Standard-legal, it's more likely we’ll use Sneak.”

Another version of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai, is one of four special cards with special art created exclusively for the expansion by TMNT original artist the co-creator.

Additionally, should you be surprised by the card text on Turtles Forever card, which lets you play cards outside of your deck, so was I. But as per Wizards, that's now a official card in all formats of Magic.

Anyway, below are the highly unusual full-art lands from the TMNT set:

As per the company’s current policy, these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard format. Developers say they were careful to make sure the cards and gameplay elements worked smoothly with other Standard sets like Edge of Eternities.

“I led the development for 15 months and we knew it would be Standard-legal and which sets would be alongside it in Standard,” the designer commented. “Our goal was to ensure that there's synergy with some of those sets like Edge of Eternities.”

For example, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a Izzet archetype focused on artifacts.

“They mesh together to offer the components for a fun Standard-legal deck,” the designer added.

Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power!

After declining to create any pre-constructed Commander decks for Spider-Man and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, Wizards is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just a single precon, but it does come with six distinct legendary cards that can serve as your commander based on how you pair them (five cards have a special partner ability called “Character Select” that lets you start with two of them in the command zone rather than only one). Take a look for yourself:

This Commander deck is priced at $69.99, though the price may rise based on demand. Wizards indicated that it contains 43 brand-new cards altogether, which translates to an extra thirty-seven TMNT-themed cards besides the six legendary commanders shown above. (Doing some rough math, this suggests about 20 reprinted cards if we assume the deck comes with 37 lands.)

What will the TMNT version of the iconic Sol Ring look like? Fans must wait and find out.

TMNT Bundle (Regular)

As per usual, Wizards is offering a bundle. This one costs $69.99 and includes the following:

  • Nine Play Boosters
  • Fifteen Foil basic lands
  • 15 Non-foil basic lands
  • 2 Reference cards
  • 1 Foil promotional card
  • One Large life tracker
  • One storage box

Pizza-Themed Bundle

This is a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, mostly in that it comes in what looks like a pizza delivery box. Every pizza-themed bundle costs $99.99 and comes with the following:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • 1 Collector Booster
  • 25 Regular pizza lands
  • 5 Foil pizza-themed lands
  • 2 Foil Pizza Bundle promotional cards
  • Two helper cards
  • 1 Oversized spindown life counter
  • One Card-storage box

For those curious about the “pizza bundle promo” is, it’s basically a reprinted older card with all-new Turtle-themed artwork. The team revealed an example for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of master Splinter adding toppings onto a pizza slice. There are six different Pizza Bundle promo cards available.

This special bundle launches a few weeks after the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Bundle

This special bundle is made for a four-person draft and is priced at $119.99. It includes:

  • Twelve Standard Boosters (ideal for four people to play draft)
  • 1 Collector Booster (aka, the reward for winning)
  • Ninety Non-foil basic lands (for building your draft deck)
  • Ten Regular double-sided tokens
  • 1 Draft insert (a one-sheet guide to drafting this expansion)

Cooperative Play Set

Lastly, Wizards are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its continued initiative to develop Magic products aimed at new players. In this case, Turtle Team-Up is a special set of prebuilt decks that allow two players team up against a “Boss” enemy deck that plays automatically.

The general idea here that each Boss card grants unique powers to the creatures included in the Boss deck. The Boss automatically casts one other card per turn, and players begin battling {one Boss|
